Travel guide to Brazil

Privacy

Tourism Brasil is a reading site. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics and asks for no personal data. This page says exactly what happens when you open a page.

The short version

You can read every page of Tourism Brasil without giving us anything. There is no account to create, no newsletter to join, no form that collects personal data and no login. We do not sell, rent or share data about readers, because we do not hold any.

Cookies

The public site sets no cookies at all. That is why you are not greeted by a consent banner: there is nothing to consent to. The only cookie the project uses is the session cookie of the private editorial area, and it is created only after an editor signs in there. A reader never receives it.

What your browser stores

When you switch language, your browser keeps one item in local storage, named tb.locale, holding the language code you picked. It stays in your browser, is never sent to us and is not readable by any other site. Clearing your browser data removes it, and blocking storage only means the site stops remembering your choice.

Analytics and advertising

There is no analytics provider, no tag manager, no advertising pixel and no social network script on any page. No page carries advertising. If that ever changes, this page will be updated before the change goes live, not after.

The one external request

Five pages about Ubatuba show the current weather conditions. To do that, your browser asks api.open-meteo.com for the forecast of that town. That request carries your IP address and the coordinates of the town, as any web request does; it carries nothing about you and no identifier from us. Every other file on the site — stylesheet, script, font, photo — is served from our own domain. If the request fails, the page simply shows no weather.

The site search receives what you typed in order to answer it, and does not store it. There is no search history, on the site or attached to you.

Server logs

Like any website, the server that delivers the pages keeps technical access logs: address requested, time, response code, browser identification and IP address. They exist to keep the site running and to investigate faults and abuse. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not combined with anything else, because there is nothing else to combine them with.

Children

The site is not aimed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age.

Your rights

Data protection law — the GDPR in Europe and the LGPD in Brazil — gives you the right to know what a site holds about you, to correct it, to have it deleted and to object to its use. In our case the honest answer to such a request is that we hold nothing that identifies you. If you want to ask anyway, use the contact page.

Changes to this page

This page describes the site as it is built today. If the portal starts using analytics, advertising or any service that receives reader data, this page changes first and says so plainly.
